In the spring of 2026 a new project is starting where we are tracking planktivorous and piscivorous Arctic charr in Thingvallavatn.
This project is a collaboration between Hafrannsóknastofnun and the University of Iceland.
How are we tracking these fish?
Thirty-one acoustic receivers will be deployed in the lake in a grid-like manner after which they will stay in the lake for the next several years.
